Unattended Children Policy

When visiting the library, children in 4th grade and younger must be accompanied by a parent, guardian, or responsible caregiver age 16 or older.  Exceptions are made when a child is attending a Library program, for a brief visit to check out or drop off materials, or when special arrangements have been made in advance with the Library Director.  For safety concerns, preschoolers should not be left unattended in any part of the library at any time.  Parents/caregivers must remain in the library when children younger than 1st grade are attending a program.  Children in 5th grade and up are welcome to use the library unattended provided they are able to maintain proper behavior.
